Federal Stimulus Funds ARRA aide City Construction Project
The City of Pueblo has received a federal stimulus funding that will assist in the completion of the Eastern Gateway Highway Interchange landscape project.
The city has been awarded Federal Stimulus Funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act or ARRA for the Eastern Gateway Landscape Project.
The project will landscape the right-of-way of the highway interchange.
The project is located at the interchange of State Highway 47, State Highway 96 and U.S. 50 Bypass. The work includes planting of trees and shrubs, installation of topsoil, seeding with native grassland grass and the installation of an automatic sprinkler system.
The total budget for the project is just over $437,500 with $381,424 coming from ARRA funds and $56,000 from a local match.
The construction is expected to last 60 days and will begin on April 28th and will be completed by June 30th. Work will be completed on one quadrant at a time to minimize erosion and promote the growth of the grass seed. Watch for construction vehicles entering the Work Zone. No lane closures are expected.
