Arkansas River restrictions
4:55pm
As of the time of this release, all restrictions that were previously placed on access to the Arkansas River waters have been lifted.
This is being done in conjunction with Lake Pueblo State Park lifting their restrictions from the base of the Pueblo Dam to the Nature Center.
All access to the Arkansas River from the Pueblo Dam through the City of Pueblo is restored.
River flows have dropped considerably from the levels of last week.
All current regulations must still be abided by, including acceptable watercraft, and ALL users must wear US Coast Guard approved life jackets when in the river. Neglecting these requirement can result in municipal citations being issued.
The Pueblo Fire Department urges extreme caution when floating and boating the river. The recent high flows have exposed new objects in the river channel such as roots, logs and other debris.
*The lifted restrictions included: No access to swimmers, tubers and fishermen (in the water).
Please be safe!
